Great post! I use Wordpress for my eportfolio and I'm creating a pared down version for viewing on handheld devices. I've started looking into m-portfolios and m-learning ahead of a Research Study next year so I would really like to learn more about the issues surrounding mobile versions of sites (specifically Wordpress, Moodle and Mahara).

@Bob: do most mobiles not force a mobile theme already? I have a Hero and it does. *Iphone/blackberry users pls reply*

For nice mobile viewing of an eportfolio in Wordpress, be sure to include the WPTouch plug-in/theme on a self-hosted WordPress blog. This neat plug-in will detect a mobile device (iPhone/Touch, Blackberry Storm, Android, Palm Pre) and reformat the Wordpress sites into a mobile-friendly format. http://www.bravenewcode.com/products/wptouch/

Thanks Nick. We have started planning including iPod Touches as a sizable chunk of the technologies in our classrooms from next year - This is very handy!

I have also found quite bit of material on the web relating to mobile technologies - very exciting
